Sightseeing Adventures begin

Now that we've gotten some sleep and adjusted to the time change we're seeing all we can...with kids that is.... We went to the Eifell tower twice, once to go up it, but since it was pouring rain that day we coudn't really enjoy hanging outside of it. We also saw Notre Dame,  Le Louvre and L'Arc de Triomphe on Wed (along with all the scenery en-route to each attraction) , it was a sunny day with off and on rain but who can complain, we're in Paris. Thursday weather said pouring rain all day so we made plans for the children's museum (Cite des Enfants) and Centre de Pompidou. After visiting the Explora Museum (Albuquerque) and the Childrens' Museum (Seattle), the Cite des Enfants museum pales in comparison. Still the kids enjoyed it. We really enjoyed our time at Pompidou.

Alisa lost her tooth in Paris and got a Euro! Alisa asked her Daddy  to write a French note to let the *French* tooth fairy know *NOT* to take her tooth.

The Start of our Trip to Europe

The Start of our Trip to Europe.
So we survived our first few days, but on little sleep. The first night in SFO at the Hotel, Manny and I woke up at 2:30am (couldn't fall back asleep) and as it would so happen, the kids woke up at 4:00am and couldn't go back to sleep. Manny and Little Manny managed to fall back asleep for about 3 hrs. Alisa and I were up. Hoping the night flight would go better, Alisa passed out as soon as the plane took off and slept for 3 hours, Little Man wide awake until she woke up, then he passed out for 3 hours. While he was sleeping, Alisa watched the inflight movies, which I must say, have really changed since I've flown international in 10 years. And Manny and I tried to sleep, but I guess in our older age, we just can't sleep anywhere like we used too. We were to uncomfortable in those chairs (really missed working for the airlines since we would have probably been able to get into business class, as so my Husband wishes :)).

We got into to Paris, grab some dinner and all went to sleep at 6:00pm. With a few wakings, we all maganged to stay in bed till 4:00am which was OK since we had to be up by 6:00am to make it to our 9:00am reservation at the Eifel Tower (needed some margin since with rain, kids, familiarity with metro, kids, time to/from stations, kids, etc). On the bright side, we finally did managed to find an ATM that read Manny's card. We were worried since we were not able to make purchases on the first day of our trip. We were able to get some pizza the first night after Manny was able to show the merchant the correct way to use their card reader....it was funny....guess all merchants in the area we visited got new card readers. Back to traveling abroad

We are traveling to Paris and Germany with the kids ages 4 and 6 this year June 2011. Our love for traveling started even before Manny and I met. His Parents took him to Europe when he was 15 and when he was 16 he stayed with a family for a year who lived in Germany but crossed the border every morning to teach at a High School in France, where Manny did his junior year.  Manny continued to travel after College. We met in Albuquerque, NM and 3 years later I got a job with the airlines which took our traveling to new heights. We've traveled to Paris France, Heidleburg Germay, Rome Italy and Lake Como Italy, Hungary Budpest, Cesky Krumlov Czeck Republic, Austrailia and New Zealand just to name a few... before Kids. So now we are heading back to see his  Family in Germany and have them meet the kids for the first time. We will first travel to Paris for one week and stay in an apartment, then go to Germany and stay for 2 1/2 weeks. Then go back to Paris for 2 days and take the kids to Euro Disney for one day before heading home. Not sure if I'll be able to post and document our travels but my plan is to try, so to be continued.....
