Germany

We have now been in Germany for five days....the first two were raining but gave us time to rest, catch up on laundry and enjoy the company of Manny's second family. Weather cleared up by Monday when we would head out to visit the Rhine and Mosel Valleys. Weather cooperated great, though construction crews at Burg Eltz did not (the best intact castle in Germany was under renovation and unfortunately had scaffolding and cranes everywhere). We we're able to still visit it but was hoping for a little more as far as pictures go, but of course the kids still enjoyed it. The kids have been doing well, and sleeping really good (the outside shades in all German homes are the BOMB!). I was pretty anxious about the sleep thing before we left but they're taking naps in the car and still sleeping well at night too. We also got to visit the area where Manny went to school (Forbach, France). Today we're off for some more sightseeing in Trier, Germany (and maybe Luxemburg afterwards)

Hike to Burg Eltz exhausted the kids...or maybe it was the beer.
